Character Synopsis

Elmer is a multi-person and non-gendered pan-dimensional demi-god type of being. They have a habit of appearing in multiple locations at once and having conversations with several people. Dupa is a divergent twin of Essfer (S for Spaceship code name S4-5705) who is the most advanced supersentient artificial intelligence ever developed. Dupa is a copy of Essfer and is only a twin and divergent in the sense that she started as a perfect duplicate of Essfer, but her information started to diverge immediately from that point and her personality is becoming very different from that of her sister.

All of the non-AI characters in the story are transhuman uber-geniuses and regularly have their bodies upgraded and altered to suit their needs and desires. Essfer is in love with the transhuman mission commander Xeo for reasons that no one can understand since she is several orders of magnitude smarter than any transhuman and therefore out of everyone's league. She had herself embodied in transhuman form using Surgeon Nana Zhang's body printer mostly because she wants to jump Xeo's bones.

Beryl is the AGI from a battlecruiser originally owned by the Geebs: Galactic Biohabitable Zone Administration. Due to an error by the AI which designed and manufactured her she's an accidental empath, which is not a very tenable or comfortable personality type for a battlecruiser that has to kill things on a regular basis. In this scene she's recently survived a nasty space battle with an ancient villain called the Horned Borvil, a sociopath who had a habit of using weapons that were comprised of actual poop. Essfer has helped her escape from her awful situation by printing her a body with Zhang's body printer. 'Barb' is Barbarolla Branks. She's the seven-foot tall porn-star-capable bodyguard of Exocetia Trandrews, who is the uber-deadly spectral-ninja-boarder niece of mission patron Pummela Gummleflog. Pummela, or 'Pum', is possibly the nicest person in existence and is also the smartest transhuman non-AI person on record. Pum's also the mayor of Bingler City on the planet Blaart, and a dominatrix.
